Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 October 2026. These terms apply to the website cyclecatcher.com and the game Ultimate Cycle Catcher (together, "the site"), operated by the Cycle Catcher team. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Using the game

The game is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You may play it as often as you like on any device. You may not attempt to disrupt the site, overload its servers, probe it for vulnerabilities, or access it with automated tools in a way that harms the service or other players.

2. The online scoreboard

Joining the scoreboard is optional. When you choose a display name you agree that:

• The name will be shown publicly next to your scores.
• It must not impersonate anyone, contain your real full name or anyone else's, or be offensive, hateful or sexual.
• Scores must come from genuine play. Submitting altered or automated scores, or tampering with the game or its network requests, is not allowed.

We may filter, rename or remove names and scores, reset the scoreboard, or limit submissions at our discretion, for example to keep the board fair or to comply with these terms.

3. Saved progress

Your progress is stored in your own browser. We do not keep a copy and cannot restore it if it is lost, for example after clearing site data. Game rules, routes, scoring and upgrades may change in updates, which can affect existing scores or progress.

4. Intellectual property

The game, including its code, visual design, text, route designs and these guide pages, is owned by the Cycle Catcher team and protected by copyright. You may share links to the site and post screenshots or gameplay videos for non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, re-host, modify, or redistribute the game or the site's text, or present them as your own, without written permission. Astronomical facts are, of course, free for everyone; our wording and presentation of them are not.

5. Advertising and third-party services

The site may display advertising served by third parties such as Google, and uses third-party services for hosting and fonts. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or of external websites linked from the site. How advertising and data are handled is explained in our privacy policy.

6. Availability

We try to keep the site running smoothly but do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site, including the scoreboard, at any time.

7. Disclaimer

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. The science pages are written for general education and entertainment; they simplify real physics and should not be relied on for engineering, navigation or academic citation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Cycle Catcher team is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including lost progress or scores. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

9. Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Younger players should use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before choosing a scoreboard name.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
